Why should I invite my offline friends?
Inviting your offline friends is vital to your success here at SweetLuck™. By no means do we claim to be psychics or psychologists! However, it's common knowledge that your true value in life comes from how many true friends you have. Now by no means are we suggesting that we you are a TOTAL LOSER if you have no friends. But you are perceived to have more value by the opposite sex when you do have friends that can validate how nice of a guy you are or how sweet of a girl you are. Perception is reality when it comes to social interaction! That is one of the main reasons why lonely guys or "wallflowers," as we sometimes refer to them, in night clubs or bars have a hard time attracting a woman. They are not perceived to have any value, because they have not been validated by his friends. Why do I have to activate my account?
Your account must be activated to keep spam and fake profiles out of our data base. If you do not activate your profile within 14 days of creating your profile, it will be deleted.

What is the difference between "User Name" and "First Name"?
Your user name is your log in name that we ask you for during registration. Your user name appears in both the red control panel on the upper top right corner, and it also used to allow you access to various tools on the site. Once chosen, your user name may not be changed. Your first name on the other hand is your real first name. It appears on your profile page. You are under no obligation to disclose your first name if you don't want to. However, your first name appears on notifications sent to other members on your behalf. You have the option of choosing who sees your first name.

How do I change my Notification Preferences?
You can always change how you like us to communicate with you. Simply head over to "My Settings" located in the red control panel in the upper right side of the Home page. Choose "My Privacy". Here you can change whether or not you would like us to notify you when another member sends you a Friend or SweetRequest™, when you receive a new message, when somebody visits your profile, when someone comments on your photos, when your friends have activity in their accounts, when you have new matches, when your friends suggest you for a Hook-Up, or when someone thinks you're hot.

How Do I Hide My Birthday?
Simply head over to "My Settings" located in the red control panel in the upper right side of the Home page. Choose "My Privacy". Here you can change who sees your ratings, recent activity, E-Mail, birthday, age, first name, SweetList, Friends List and so on.

How do I send an Intro Video?
We have found that people react very favorably when they receive an Intro Video. If you ask us, nothing beats looking at a potential date on video. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, well here at SweetLuck™, a video is worth a thousand text books. You can study a person's mannerism, body language, choice of words and many other things while Video Chatting with that person. Within minutes you can most likely tell if a date with this person would be worth your time. To upload a video you produced with a webcam or digital camera, simply head over to "My Videos" page. Once you have uploaded it, you can send it to a friend or potential date. You can also send a video by attaching it to you E-mail messages.

How Do I Video Chat With Someone?
Go to the chat room and invite the person to video chat. It's quite fun. Try it.

What is a Hook-Up?
Simply put, a Hook-Up works like this. If you see someone that you think is not quite right for you, but your friend may hit it off with this person, you simply "Suggest a Hook-Up." Go to the profile of the person who you like to Hook your friend up with, and click on the "Suggest a Hook-Up" button.

What is The Public Gallery?
This is where you can share your favorite videos with the rest of our community. You can upload a personal video directly from your desktop or you can share a video that you host on YouTube. What are My Videos & My Albums?

Who Are My Admirers?
These are members who were checking you out BIG time. They probably like you or would like to be your friend. They came by and checked out your profile. We find that sending a SweetRequest™ or a Friend Request to these members usually result in positive returns. Please note that any time another member visits your profile, their profile picture along with the date of their last visit gets stamped on your Admirer's page. In order to save room we did away with multiple stamps. So if you are really serious about knowing how many times a certain member visited your profile page; you should check the page often to see if the date has changed.

How Do I Change Something On My Profile?
Head over to "My Settings" located in the red control panel in the upper right side of the Home page. Go to My Profile, and modify any of your personal information.

I Posted Something Under Fun Articles, But I Do Not See It?
In order to keep our site as spam free as possible, when you submit something in this category it will be marked pending for approval. Once it is approved, we will post it to the page. Normally it takes less than a day or two.

I see a picture or video that I do not think is appropriate, what can I do?
SweetLuck™ encourages flagging as a system of self policing. You see something that is not appropriate, by all means, please flag it. We ask that you help us keep this site as clean and friendly as possible. Any pictures or videos that you believe to be either porn, inappropriate, cartoonist, celebrity or just a picture that is just fake, please feel free to flag it. We will remove it PRONTO.

Can I put my phone number in my profile?
Do not post any personal information that can be used to identify you or that can be used to locate you. That means you should never post your cell phone number, house telephone number, home address, usual hang out locations, places you usually frequent, your baby's daddy's address, I think you get the point. We actually suggest that you only allow those that you trust to be able to see your email address or any other personal information about you. To modify the information listed on your profile, simply head over to "My Settings" located in the red control panel in the upper right side of the Home Page. Go to "My Profile", and modify who gets to see your information.

How do I change my profile picture?
simply head over to "My Settings" page and click Picture / Account. Browse and choose the picture you like to add and then hit submit. The picture you submit should be of YOU. Preferably a head shot. Make sure your picture is formatted in either BMP, GIF, JPG, or JPEG. You should not post cartoons, celebrities or anybody or anything that is not the profile's owner. We will delete your account if we find that this rule has been violated. Also you are welcome to drop a dime, or rat out anyone that does not comply with this requirement, we will send them packing.

I think someone is hot! I'm not sure if they like me?
Like to find out? Simply go to the person's profile. Click on "SweetRequest™." This will clear any doubts. You can also try going to the home page and try rating this member.

How do I send someone a message?
If you see someone who you like to speak to, you can go their profile and under their profile picture click "Send Message." You can also go to the "My Messages" page and click compose. Just enter the person's name in the "To" field. Also when conducting a search you can also send a Friend Request or SweetRequest™. You also have the option of attaching a video or picture to any of your messages that you send. When you are done with the message click "Send."

Is there anything I could do to increase my response rate?
The number one rule to understand about online dating is that sometimes nothing makes sense. Once you commit that rule to memory, then you will understand everything. Trust us! I'm glad we got that out the way! Once you learn to follow the above mentioned rule, try to understand that not everyone will respond to your messages. Sometimes you will find that you write to members who are ultra shy, others are very busy to write back, others are very attractive and receive lots of messages and it is near to impossible to reply to all, and at other times our system eats the reply message before it gets to you (just kidding) Either way, don't take it too seriously if someone does not respond, just move on to someone who will. Quick note worth mentioning: When making first contact, make sure to read the person's profile and only send personalized messages. Comment on something you read in their profile. Singles hate generic emails. Always be engaging and ask open questions that leaves room for the other person to reply to. A good example of a bad message is to send an email giving someone a compliment and then expecting a reply. Also guys remember that women respond well to confident men. So if you write a message to a female please do not sound too eager or too desperate, women are hard wired to repel men who are unsure of themselves. Now that is not to say that you want to sound cocky, but try to find a happy medium when contacting other members. So for example, guys please leave the following out of your emails: I know I'm not what you looking for... It’s ok if you don't respond... If you don't respond please tell me why... You get my drift. Always make sure you have a nice recent photo of yourself in your profile. Having a good picture makes a world of a difference. Also make sure to read and edit your messages before you hit the send button. Remember, your first message is your first impression. The same goes for your Intro Video. Watch your video before you send them. Also remove bad words (profanity) from your message? It may come as a shock to some, but one single bad word can be a buzz killer for the recipient of the message. There are no exceptions. It doesn't matter if Tom Cruise himself sent the message, the result is the same. Leave bad words out of your messages because it can ruin your limit your success rate.

Is There A Way To Confirm My Message Was Read
Yes. Under the menu bar, click "Messages." Once you reach "My Messages" page, go over to "Mail Options" which is located on the right. Then click "Sent," you should be able to see all your messages that you sent, including the message status. If your message was not read, it will be marked "Pending." If your message was deleted without being read, then it will state "msg deleted without reading." All messages that have been read also include the date it was opened.

Why I'm I getting crazy messages?
If by crazy you mean, you have members who want to drink your bath water, then we can't help you there. Maybe you are just a very attractive or handsome person. One point that should be made here. The profile you project is the only thing that another member could reply to. It is their first impression of you. If you have a profile picture of someone who is reserve and seems nice, then most likely that is the kind of member who will reply. The point is, other members in our community will react to the kind of profile that you put up. So keep it clean and keep it nice. However, if you find someone is harassing you first try to block them from contacting you, that usually does the trick, but it fails please let us know.

Someone I like wants me to send them money, should I?
Please understand that there are a lot of scam artist out there. We are always looking to delete any suspected scammers that create profiles to practice their trade here. Also understand that these people sometimes they may fly under our radar. The typical scam goes like this: Someone contacts you pretending to be interested in you. Their pictures without exception usually are of someone who is very attractive, very seldom are these pictures of the person who you are communicating with. Once contact has been made, the scam artist quickly tells you that you should contact them outside of SweetLuck™ and proceeds to provide you with their personal email address, sometimes without you even suggesting it. The scam artist objective is usually to get your trust; they may dedicate a week to sometimes a year getting your trust. They are very persistent and will work on you until they are satisfied that there is an illusion of a genuine relationship. Once that illusion has been established, that is when the scam artist begins to ask for money. Their reasons may vary. They may give you every excuse under the sun, like they are stranded in a foreign country and do not have any means to get back. They may say that they want to meet you and request that you provide the airfare so that you guys can meet. They may also say that they had a family medical emergency which requires them to pay for a medical procedure. You name it, they will say it. It is up to you to keep your money safe. You are responsible to keep a vigil out for these shady characters. DO NOT UNDER ANY circumstance send money to anybody for any reason. You have been warned.

How do I block someone?
Head over to the offending member's profile. Click on "Block This Person." Once you do so, they will not be able to make any contact with you. If for any reason you suspect that they are still making contact, either because they created a different profile, etc, then shoot us an email so we can look into the matter. Please be advised that we do not get involved in petty disagreements. If the issue can't be resolved amongst the parties themselves, rather than getting into a he said, she said, we will simply delete the offending party's profile. If we can't determine who the offending party is then both profiles will be deleted.

Is The Compose New Message Thing Working?
If you are attempting to message someone and have noticed that the destination field is disabled or sending a message to someone lands in your Received Box, then most likely that person has blocked you from contacting them. Please honor their request and move on to someone who does not mind your interesting messages.

How Do I Invite Someone To The Chat Rooms?
Once you have logged on, head over to the profile of the member you like to chat with. Click on the "Chat Room Invite" Icon. Your invite is sent to the other member. If they accept, you will be notified. You must then proceed to the chat room to meet up with that member.

Can You Explain The Different Chat Rooms?
Once you have log on, choose which chat room you would like to chat in. There are currently five rooms. There is the "First Date" chat room which gives you an opportunity to have a virtual first date with another member. Then there is the "Kissing Booth," which we suggest going to after the "First Date" chat. Then there is the "Friend's First," room, which we suggest going to before the "First Date" chat room. Then there is the "Pick-Up Cafe, where you can try your skills to seal the deal. Then we have the Friday's chat room. This is actually our favorite chat room here at SweetLuck™. We actually LOVE this room. The Friday's chat room is for those who are seeking a REAL date for this upcoming Friday or weekend. So if you were not able to find a date during the whole week, then this is the chat room that you definitely want to be in. If you are in this room it is because you want to meet someone in person this upcoming weekend. Anybody found in this room that has no intention of meeting someone this Friday or weekend should be reported to us. Everyone in this room is hunting for a date for Friday or the weekend. So you should not have any problems meeting someone who is receptive to going out this Friday. So there you have it folks.

How Do I Use The Chat Rooms?
The chat rooms are rather easy to use. On the right are the rooms. You user name will appear beneath the room you currently are in. To change rooms simply click on the "Room" drop down menu which is located immediately beneath the "welcome" sign on the top left of the chat room. The menu drops down revealing the rooms, highlight the room you like to enter and then you are in the room. If you like to create a private room, simply click on the "Add" menu located to the right of the "Room" drop down menu. Enter the name of the room you like to create and choose if you like the room to be private or public. Entering a password would bar anybody who does not have the password. A public room can be seen by anybody but other members can't enter unless they have the password. The bottom option lets you customize your chatting experience. You can change the colors of the background, themes, effects, sounds or the colors of the texts. You can send another member a private message, send an invite, or simply ignore them by clicking on their name.

What are these Addictive Games?
These are very cool games that you can play by yourself or in multiplayer mode. They landed there because our game committee could not stop playing them, so hopefully you will enjoy them as much as we did.

How do I start a conversation in the forums?
Simply log on and find a topic you like start a thread under. Once you are there, simply start a thread or add to an existing conversation. If you can't locate a suitable topic them go to "All Others." Please be advised that you must behave yourself while at the forums. There are two very important reasons why you should be on your best behavior while there. 1. Your potential dates or friends can easily read what you wrote, so they may get the wrong impression about you if you write any crazy stuff. 2. The Friendship & Love Calculator is backed by our powerful matching algorithm. It’s run on the same uniquely designed SweetLuck™ platform. It tells you the probability of a successful relationship or friendship with a fellow member in our community. To use it, simply enter your user name and the user name of the person you like to calculate your success with. Please note that your profile name is your user name. Entering your first name will not work. This feature works best with members who have fully completed their profiles. The feature has limitations; it can only predict your probability with the limited information it has. The more accurate the information you provided in your profile, the more accurate the results will be.

I like writing in CAPITAL letters, is that a problem?
When creating your profile, always keep in mind your target audience. In other words, try reading it with an objective eye. If you were another person visiting your profile, what would you think of it? Do you think it's impressive? Can you think of anything that you may be able to add or suggest to make it even more appealing? The number one thing that you do not want to do is give a potential mate of friend a reason to disqualify you. As stated before, vulgarity has no place in a profile. The same applies to rude etiquette, writing in all capitals (don't scream), or having a lot of misspelled words in your profile. Don't get us wrong, we know that you are probably one of the smartest person on our site, but the person reading your profile won't know that or will not get the chance to find out because they will make up their minds about you based on a few short misunderstood paragraphs.

Why does the red login box say that my Profile Remains Incomplete?
Your profile must contain a recent photo of you and more than 60% of the questions and options must be answered. If you do not upload a profile photo and if you do not answer more than 60% of the questions or options, your profile will display this message. Please note that those profiles that remain incomplete for more than 14 days are automatically deleted from our system. To complete your profile upload a profile photo and answer more than 60% of your profile questions.

What is the best screen resolution to view this site?
This site is designed for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. To change your monitor's resolution, follow the directions below following your operating systerm. Windows XP Minimize all windows. Right click on the screen choose slide down to choose the properties option. Then click on the top tab named "Settings" and on the bottom left you should see a sliding tab that allows you to slide to change the screen resolution. Slide if left until you see the option has reached 1024 x 768. Then click OK. Click Yes on a dialog box to keep the new settings. Macintosh Go to Apple Menu --> Control Panels --> Monitors. Click on the Monitor icon --> choose 1024 x 768.
